Our Story

Building bridges where others see barriers

Established in 1974, Thiboloha Special School has been a beacon of hope and excellence in special needs education for half a century. Located in the scenic Witsieshoek area of the Free State, nestled in the Drakensberg mountains, our school serves as a comprehensive Resource Centre for Learners with Barriers to Learning and Development.

What makes Thiboloha unique is our holistic approach to special needs education. We are one of the few institutions in South Africa that provides specialized programs for deaf, blind, autistic, and intellectually impaired learners all under one roof, creating a truly inclusive environment where every child can thrive.

Our consistent 100% National Senior Certificate pass rate from 2011 to 2024 stands as testament to our unwavering commitment to academic excellence and our belief that every learner, regardless of their challenges, deserves the opportunity to succeed.
