Important Note: All documents must be original or certified copies. Documents in languages other than English or Sesotho must be accompanied by certified translations.

Age Guidelines & Program Placement

Understanding which program best suits your child's age and needs

Preprimary Phase
Ages 3-7 years

Early intervention and foundation skills development. Available for Deaf (ages 3-7) and Blind (ages 4-7) learners. Focus on basic communication, social skills, and school readiness.

Foundation Phase
Grade R-3 (Ages 6-9)

Academic foundation building with specialized instruction methods. Literacy, numeracy, and life skills development adapted for each program's unique approaches.

Intermediate Phase
Grade 4-6 (Ages 10-12)

Expanded curriculum including Natural Science and Technology. Continued development of specialized skills and increasing independence.

Senior Phase
Grade 7-9 (Ages 13-15)

Comprehensive subject range and preparation for FET phase. Vocational exploration and career guidance begin during this phase.

FET Phase
Grade 10-12 (Ages 16-18)
